Daniel Reed Crenshaw is a former United States Navy SEAL commander who has served as the United States Representative for Texas’s 2nd congressional district since 2019. Parts of northern and western Houston are included in the district. He belongs to the Republican Party. Crenshaw joined the US Navy and served in SEAL Team 3 during the Afghan War, rising to the rank of lieutenant commander. During his third tour, he was injured in battle and lost his right eye to an improvised explosive device.
